Poker Diary
Tunica – Grand Casino — 9/27/03 to 9/28/03
Report:
Arrived 3 pm. Played 4/8 limit hold em for 5 hours. Up about $300. Played tight aggressive style — Played only top ten, plus Ax suited. Good result.
9PM to 1 AM. Played 4/8 limit hold em for 4 hours. Up about $300. Played tight aggressive. Played only top ten, plus AX suited. Good result again.
Played 3 AM to 7 AM. Lost $600. Bad result. Got very tired and was unable to focus on cards I had. Lost $100 at 4/8. Did not stick to tight aggressive play. Moved to 10/20 table and lost $500 in 2 hours. Was initially up $200 playing tight aggressive. Table only had 4 players at end. I’m not good in a table short of players. Also got headache due to smokers.
Lessons learned:
1. Do NOT play poker when tired or fatigued.
2. Play lower limit tables.
3. Play full tables.
4. Play tight/aggressive style only.
5. Do not play poker with middle aged asian men.
6. Do play poker with old ladies at table.
7. Avoid smoking tables.
Rule for Me.
1. If you Play poker for 6 hours, you MUST take 6 hours off to rest. Sharpness is key. You are not aware of being fatigued when you are fatigued. Playing poker when fatigued is giving money away.
2. Stay tight. Patience wins in the end. Doesn’t cost much to fold a potentially winning hand. Wait for SURE winning hand to really jam it.
